Hi Marc, I have no structural issues on my knee/ankle. Highly likely it’s knee tendinopathy yet my ankle(slammed on exercise bike has issues). Currently I can handle stationary bike ..Yet I have lingering pain on my roof of foot, when I carry groceries.
Should I still follow this exercise protocol?
Is this pain in root of foot common for knee tendinopathy?

I’m currently experiencing quite a bit of discomfort at the tibial tuberosity and the patella is painful with palpitation at in this area. There’s no pain further up the tendon toward the patella. Can I utilize this protocol despite my pain being localized on the tibial end of the tendon? Seemingly it’s presenting like adult Osgood-Schlatter’s.

I have been looking for help for nearly two years. I’m 64 years old and a retired MRI Tech. I’m have always kept myself in good shape but paid dearly for all of the years running on pavement. I had my right knee replaced December 2020 with a scheduled left knee replacement for March 2021. After my Right TKA my PT was excellent and I reach all expectations for flexibility. At my 7th week everything suddenly started to reverse. Within a week my right knee was unable to flex with substantial swelling and pain. After three different imaging modalities I was told that I had Tendinosis and that there were a substantial amount of tears in my quad tendon. Some of which required surgery. I requested an MRI before surgery and the MRI showed that my tendon had inadvertently lapped back and forth upon itself creating an “S“ shaped layer. Even worse, that very spot had been sutured creating a tendon that that was literally 1.5cm too short. In essence my hard and painful therapy ripped my tendon to shreds. My next surgery to repair the damage was in March 2021 and physical therapy was and is very slow going. It is now 18 months since my second surgery and my knee cap pops out and medially when going up and down stairs. Going down is more painful because of the weight load. I have yet to determine the best way to tighten up my tendon so it stays in place. Is there a specific regimen you would recommend?

Quadriceps tendinopathy would likely be managed similarly. Here’s our blog for gluteal tendinopathy – https://e3rehab.com/staging1/blog/lateralhippain/

Is pain in the tendon above the patella treated the same way? (on the gluteal side). Does your book go into that tendinopathy as well?
Thank yo so much

The professionals say it’s from overuse and the fact that she’s growing a lot. They also say she’ll grow out of it eventually. The pain is below the knee cap and it’ll jump from right to left knee and back for no apparent reason and no consistent duration. She does travel soccer and lacrosse but we’ve cut her training time down significantly. She’s rested form weeks at a time but the pain would come back within a couple days. What do you think?
